New: Commuter Meal Memberships
Welcome to the world of Gator
Dining Services, the official food service provider for the University of Florida. We are dedicated to bringing
you the best quality food and service and we offer more than 40 locations on campus including 2 residential dining
facilities and all your favorite national brands like Wendy’s, Subway, Moe's Southern Grill, Chick-fil-A, Quiznos Sub,
Einstein Bros. Bagels, Starbucks Coffee, and more. We offer two types of meal plan memberships:
1) The Residential Meal Membership and 2) The
Regular Declining Balance Account.
UF’s Residential Dining Centers
At our residential dining centers, you will find state-of-the-art dining concepts including a Mediterranean Kitchen,
American Bistro, Gator Grille, Latin Flavors, Vegan Corner, and more. Our two residential dining centers, Fresh Food
Company (located next to Broward Residence Hall on Inner Road) and Gator Corner Dining Center (located on the corner
of Gale Lemerand Drive and Stadium Road), feature upscale, authentic foods from around the world — made fresh right
before your eyes. But don’t worry; we
also have all your favorites too, like Oven Roasted Turkey, Carved Honey Ham, Hot Juicy Burgers and the always-popular
Flatbread Pizza. For the second year in a row UF Dining Services has been voted in the top 10
Vegetarian/Vegan - friendly campuses by PETA.
The food at both these locations is “unlimited seconds,” including salads, sandwiches, entrees,
vegetables, fruits, beverages and desserts. Talk about desserts, how does Chocolate Cream Pie and Espresso Fudge
Cheesecake sound? Go ahead and try a little of both! In addition to the fantastic food and selection, dining at
the residential facilities is also extremely flexible. If you don’t have time to sit down and eat, you can always
get your meal to go! Fall 2008 Residential Meal Memberships are available for purchase.
The Residential Meal Membership
The Residential Meal Membership is recommended for all resident students and is the most economical, flexible, and fun
way to eat on campus. We offer a variety of options to fit your life-style. Choose from 19 meals per week, 14
meals per week, 10 meals per week, or an Unlimited number of meals per week at either Gator Corner Dining Center
or the Fresh Food Company. In addition to the “meals-per-week” memberships, we also offer a block membership
which provides 150 meals for you to eat at any time during the semester. Meals can be use at the two residential
dining centers, Gator Corner Dining Center and Fresh Food Compay, as well as Home Zone in Reitz Union Food Court.
Commuter Meal Memberships
There are two new options for off campus students this fall – the 75 Block and 50 Block Commuter
Meal Memberships! These small, convenient memberships allow off campus students to enjoy on
campus eating for a discounted price. Each block of meals rolls over on a weekly basis,
concluding at the end of the semester. These meals can be redeemed at the Fresh Food Company
at Broward Dining, Gator Corner Dining Center, and Home Zone in the Reitz Union. In addition,
both Meal Memberships include Flex Bucks so you can eat all over campus at places such as
Starbucks Coffee, Chick-fil-A, Sushi & Noodle Bar, and more! These memberships are available
exclusively to students living off campus.
NEW: COMMUTER MEAL MEMBERSHIPS
New this Fall! Kosher Meal Memberships
In partnership with UF Hillel, Gator Dining Services is pleased to offer two kosher only meal
memberships and an exciting kosher optional upgrade to any Gator Dining Residential Meal Membership.
Choose from either 5 or 10 meals per week at Café Jerusalem in the UF Hillel building (Norman H.
Lipoff Hall – adjacent to campus) or you can choose to upgrade any Gator Dining Residential Meal
Membership and get 40 extra meals per semester that can also be used at Café Jerusalem.
Flexibility to
Dine at Other Locations!
One of the great things about the Residential Meal Membership is its flexibility. Along with the meals at Gator Corner
Dining Center, the Fresh Food Company and Home Zone, your membership includes a special declining balance supplement called
Flex Bucks. Depending on the option you choose, you’ll get between $200 - $430 per semester to use at any of the
other dining locations on campus including Wendy’s, Subway, Einstein Bros. Bagels, Starbucks Coffee, Chick-fil-A, Java City, Burger
King, Quiznos Sub, Moe's Southwest Grill, Chili's Too and more.
Meet, Greet, & Eat!
It’s often difficult being away from home for the first time and making new friends. As the residential dining
centers are conveniently located close to many of the residence halls on campus, they are a natural gathering
spot for students to meet, greet, and eat. Join your neighbors for coffee, a meal, or a late evening snack.
What better way to get acquainted?
Choosing the Right Option For You
Which option is best for you? Well that depends on how often you eat. Like most of us today, students rarely
consume the standard “three square meals a day.” Instead, we tend to eat a combination of both snacks and meals
throughout the day and evening —at least 4 or 5 times a day. Count for yourself, you might be surprised (and
don’t forgot those late-night snacks!). If this sounds like your eating pattern, then the Unlimited Option is
the one for you. It provides unlimited access to Gator Corner Dining Center, the Fresh Food Company and
Home Zone, whether you are dropping by for gourmet coffee with friends, sitting down to a four course meal, or popping in for some
yogurt to go.
How much can you save?
If you eat or snack an average of 4 times a day, your savings will be about 56% off the retail price — AND the
price you are paying per meal will average just $3.28! With the Unlimited Option, your meals for the
entire semester are covered — you can eat whenever you want, as much or as little as you like, without having to
think about how many meals you have left or how much money remains in your account.
For those of you who prefer a smaller weekly meal allotment, the 19 Meal Option still provides a great savings
averaging $4.18 per meal; while the 14 Meal Option averages $5.34, and the 10 Meal Option averages $6.84 per
meal. If you choose the 150 Block Option (providing 150 meals per semester at the residential dining facilities),
your average price per meal will be $6.97.
Not sure that the Residential Meal Memberships will fit your new campus life-style? Don’t worry — there
is a grace period at the beginning of the fall and spring semesters during which time you may convert the prorated value
of your meal membership to a regular declining balance account. All you have to do is come into the
Gator Dining office and fill out the conversion form. So, you have nothing to lose by trying on one of these
memberships for size!
In addition, those students who join a fraternity or sorority that has its own mandatory meal plan
component may apply for a prorated refund of their Residential Meal Membership at any time during the semester. You
may also apply for a prorated refund if you withdraw from school. Note: refunds are prorated to the date
we receive all required paperwork. Please call our business office for additional details.
