As part of UF's efforts to become a zero-waste campus by 2015,
Gator Dining Services offers reusable to-go containers at Gator Corner Dining Center and
Fresh Food Company.
Here is How it works:
A $4 refundable deposit gets you a reusable container to use for the semester.
This allows you to have one container checked out at a time.
If you would like to have two containers checked out at a time, you will be asked to pay an additional $4 deposit. You can have unlimited amount checked out at a time as long as you pay a deposit per container.
All participating customers must have a valid Gator 1 ID to check containers in and out.
For meal plan and declining balance customers, all you have to do is ask your cashier for a reusable to-go container and a $4 deposit will be placed on your declining balance account the first time that you use it.
Customers can use the to-go containers at Gator Corner Dining Center & Fresh Food Company.
We handle the washing of all containers in our dishwashing facilities to ensure their proper sanitation.
If possible we do ask that you rinse the containter before returning it to the dining hall.
Customers who do not choose to participate in the resuable to-go program may pruchase a compostable disposable container for $0.40.
If you have returned your container to the either one of the dining halls by the end of each semester, all deposits will be refunded to your Declining Balance account.
We keep track of each time you check out a resuable to-go container with your Gator 1 Card. At the end of the academic year, we award a grand prize to the
customer who has checked out the most containers.
By using reusable to-go containners, participants will join others in the effort to reduce waste on our
campus. During 2011, 290,000
disposable containers were purchased and therefore, thrown away - using recyclable containers will make
our to-go program more sustainable.

There are no time limits or late fees. We ask that you return the container by the end of the
semester to one of the dining halls. This will ensure that your refund is issued.

container and we will hand you a fresh clean container at no charge.
