In order to work towards zero waste, Gator Dining Services offers reusable to-go containers at our dining halls.

Here is How it works:

A $4 refundable deposit gets you a reusable container to use for the semester.
This allows you to have one container checked out at a time.
If you would like to have two containers checked out at a time, you will be asked to pay an additional $4 deposit. You can have unlimited amount checked out at a time as long as you pay a deposit per container.
All participating customers must have a valid Gator 1 ID to check containers in and out.
For meal plan and declining balance customers, all you have to do is ask your cashier for a reusable to-go container and a $4 deposit will be placed on your declining balance account the first time that you use it.
Customers can use the to-go containers at Gator Corner Dining Center & Fresh Food Company.
We handle the washing of all containers in our dishwashing facilities to ensure their proper sanitation. We do ask that you please bring the container back rinsed if possible.
Customers not wanting to participate in the reusable to-go program can choose to pay 40 cents for a compostable disposable container.
If you have returned your container to the either one of the dining halls by the end of the semester, all deposits will be refunded to your Declining Balance account.
We keep track of every time that you use the container, at the end of the year we will hand out a grand prize to the customer that has used their container the most.

1	Why should someone participate in the program?
	By using reusable containers, participants will join others in the effort to reduce waste on our campus. Last year 290,000 to-go containers were used, and therefore thrown away - using reusable containers will make our to-go program more sustainable. [close]
2	Does it cost money to sign up?
	There is a $4 refundable deposit for each container that you check out from the Dining Halls. All participating customers must have a valid Gator 1 ID to check containers in and out. [close]
3	Do I have to sign up?
	For meal plan and declining balance customers, all you have to do is ask your cashier for a reusable to-go container and the computer will recognize you the first time you check a container out. The $4 deposit will be added to your declining balance account. [close]

	Gator Corner Dining Center, Fresh Food Company & Home Zone in the Reitz. [close]
5	How many containers can each person check out?
	Unlimited; however there is a $4 refundable deposit per container. [close]
6	How long can a container be checked out?
	There are no time limits or late fees. We ask that you return the container by the end of the semester to one of the dining halls. This will ensure that your refund is issued. [close]
7	Do containers have to be returned to the place they were checked out?
	No. You can use your container to any of the two locations. [close]
8	Do I have to wash my container?
	We handle the washing of all containers in our dishwashing facilities to ensure their proper sanitation. We do ask that you please bring the container back rinsed if possible. Simply bring us back the dirty container and we will hand you a fresh clean container for no charge. [close]
9	Are these the same size as the disposable containers?
	No, the reusable containers are larger. [close]
10	Can I share my container with my friend/roommate?
	No. In order to properly keep track of all containers, only you will be able to check them in and out. [close]
